I took some time off as a world traveler, pilgrim, caretaker, and former appendix owner. Read further for more information if you wish!

My passion for travel and independence has led me to develop skills from various avenues. 

I spent several months traveling the Southern United States in an RV by myself. This taught me to navigate various weather and road challenges while researching places to be able to stay connected outside of travel and to visit various important historical and natural sites. From going to the depths of the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico to ascending to the top of Pinnacle Mountain in Arkansas and to the wild beauty of the Everglades in Florida; I was able to accumulate a wealth of memories and wonderful experiences. https://allison21.godaddysites.com/rv-trip

During my break from full time employment I was able to assist my mother who was recovering from spinal surgery. As well as my mother-in-law who had suffered a pulmonary embolism. Personally, I had required surgery due to appendicitis, which was challenging, but I'm very glad medical advancements helped me to make a speedy and full recovery. All is great in the health of my family and myself now!

I was able to travel to Europe for my first time and spend an extend period in both Spain and Portugal while walking an ancient pilgrimage road called the Camino de Santiago. I walked over 300 miles across the gorgeous backdrop of Northern rural Spain over the course of 6 1/2 weeks. This gave me an immersive experience in the food, culture, history, language, and nomadic lifestyle around and through the varying regions of Spain and Portugal. 

I planned this adventure day-to-day by myself, which gave me a freedom and a responsibility that I have not had before. A wonderful time filled with new experiences and growth in confidence and community.

My time off-work has been at times occasionally sprinkled and fully dedicated to learning and advancing my career skills. From writing and developing blogs, completing several speciality-based certificates, to attaining licenses and researching current trends in several industries. https://allison21.godaddysites.com/certifications

Work and my career has always been on my mind, despite the lack of formal employment in this time-off period. I do look forward to being part of a team again and seeing my experience and skills be put towards quantifiable improvements and advancements in an organization.
